Apple Reports 82% of Compatible iPhones Running iOS 18
Apple announced on Thursday that iOS 18 is now running on 82% of compatible iPhones, marking a significant increase from the 68% reported in January. The latest figures highlight the rapid adoption of Apple’s mobile operating system.
iOS 18, which was unveiled at WWDC in June 2024 and began rolling out to users in September 2024, is compatible with iPhone XR/XS and newer models. The swift uptake underscores users’ eagerness to access the latest features and improvements offered by Apple.
While Apple combines all versions of iOS 18 for these metrics, the exact distribution of specific iOS 18 versions remains unclear. This unified approach provides an overview of general adoption but doesn’t detail the use of the newest iterations.
In addition to iPhone adoption rates, Apple reported that 71% of eligible iPads are now running iPadOS 18. The company also shared that 88% of iPhones released in the last four years are running iOS 18, a notable increase from 76% in January. For iPads released within the same timeframe, 81% are running iPadOS 18.
The company has not yet released any specific usage data for Apple Intelligence features.
Looking ahead, Apple is preparing to introduce the next version of its mobile operating system, reportedly named iOS 26, at WWDC 2025 next Monday. For those interested, the keynote presentation can be watched here.
