The Browser Company launches a $20 monthly subscription for its AI-powered browser

The Browser Company has officially launched a Pro subscription plan for Dia, its innovative web browser that deeply integrates artificial intelligence capabilities. The new plan is priced at $20 per month and grants users unlimited access to Dia’s advanced AI-powered chat and skill features.

This move signifies a shift for the company, as free users will now encounter usage limitations on Dia’s AI functionalities. While The Browser Company has not disclosed the exact usage caps, CEO Josh Miller indicated to The New York Times in July that the browser will continue to be accessible for free for individuals who engage with AI features only a few times per week.

Miller also revealed plans for multiple subscription tiers, with prices expected to range from $5 per month up to several hundred dollars monthly. The current $20 Pro plan appears to be one option among several, tailored to different sets of features.

Earlier this week, users on platforms like Reddit and Threads first noticed that The Browser Company had quietly made the Pro plan available. However, the company temporarily removed the page. The subscription option has since been restored and is now accessible through Dia’s settings page.

The Browser Company, previously known for its Arc browser, has successfully raised $128 million from prominent investors including Pace Capital, Next Play Ventures, and notable tech executives like LinkedIn’s Jeff Weiner, Medium’s Ev Williams, Figma’s Dylan Field, Notion’s Akshay Kothari, and GitHub’s Jason Warner. The introduction of the Pro plan marks the company’s first revenue-generating subscription service.

Dia enters a competitive landscape of AI-enhanced browsers. It faces growing challenges from rivals such as Perplexity’s Comet browser, Opera’s forthcoming Neon browser, and established players like Google and Microsoft, who are increasingly integrating their AI assistants directly into their respective browsers.
