ElevenLabs Releases Stand-Alone Voice Generation App for iOS & Android

ElevenLabs, the pioneering voice AI company, has officially launched its highly anticipated stand-alone mobile application for both iOS and Android users. This new app empowers users to generate high-quality voice clips directly from text, offering unparalleled convenience for creators and professionals on the go.

Previously, users relied exclusively on ElevenLabs’ web application to access its advanced AI-powered voice libraries. The introduction of the dedicated mobile app marks a significant step forward, enabling seamless audio generation from any location, transforming workflows for content creators, marketers, educators, and voice artists.

Utilizing the app is straightforward: users simply type or paste their desired text, then select from a diverse range of voices to instantly generate an audio clip. ElevenLabs provides a generous free plan, offering approximately 10 minutes of audio generation, with a shared credit limit seamlessly integrated across both the web and mobile platforms. Users can also select different models to balance audio quality with credit consumption.

A notable feature of the new app is its access to ElevenLabs’ cutting-edge v3 alpha text-to-speech models. These advanced models provide users with enhanced control over vocal expressions through intuitive tagging, allowing for more nuanced and dynamic audio outputs. A demonstration video released by ElevenLabs further illustrates the app’s intuitive interface and powerful capabilities.

Jack McDermott, Mobile Growth Lead at ElevenLabs, highlighted the strategic rationale behind the app’s development. He noted that a substantial number of creators were already using mobile web browsers to generate voice samples, which they then incorporated into videos using popular editing apps like CapCut, Instagram, or InShot. Recognizing this demand, the company prioritized building a native, optimized mobile experience.

“Over the past year, we’ve seen an explosion of creativity from our community — content creators, marketers, educators, voice artists, and professionals using ElevenLabs to bring projects to life. Many have accessed ElevenLabs from mobile web browsers and asked for a faster, intuitive, more powerful experience built natively for mobile,” McDermott stated, emphasizing the community-driven impulse behind the innovation.

The release positions ElevenLabs in a competitive landscape, alongside other prominent voice cloning and generation tools such as Speechify and Captions. However, ElevenLabs’ commitment to continuous innovation is evident in its broader product roadmap.

This new voice generation app is ElevenLabs’ second consumer-facing mobile offering, following the successful launch of its Reader app last year, which allows users to listen to articles, blogs, PDFs, and e-books. Earlier this year, ElevenLabs further expanded the Reader app’s utility by opening it up for publishers to distribute audiobooks, solidifying its presence in the audio content ecosystem.

Looking ahead, ElevenLabs has ambitious plans to integrate additional features, including advanced speech-to-text capabilities and sophisticated conversational AI agent tools. The company also intends to incorporate MCP-powered experiences, such as its innovative 11.ai, directly into the mobile application, promising a robust and comprehensive AI audio platform for its growing user base.
