Anduril Secures $2.5B Funding Round Led by Founders Fund, Valuation Soars to $30.5B

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company specializing in autonomous weapons and advanced software, has announced a monumental $2.5 billion Series G funding round led by Founders Fund. This investment, which includes a $1 billion contribution from Founders Fund—the largest check the firm has ever issued—catapults Anduril’s valuation to an impressive $30.5 billion. Existing investors also participated significantly in the round, demonstrating strong confidence in the company’s vision and trajectory, according to a company spokesperson.

The funding round was reportedly oversubscribed by more than eight times, highlighting the intense investor demand for Anduril’s stock. This substantial capital infusion will enable Anduril to further advance its technology and expand its market presence in the defense sector.

Anduril has experienced rapid growth, doubling its revenue in 2024 to approximately $1 billion. This financial success is attributed to the increasing adoption of its autonomous weapons systems and the software that powers them.

In addition to its organic growth, Anduril is set to benefit from the U.S. Army’s contract to develop augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR) headsets for soldiers. Originally awarded to Microsoft with a $22 billion budget, the contract was reassigned to Anduril in February. This significant deal has even led to a reconciliation between Anduril founder Palmer Luckey and his former employer, Meta, with the two companies now collaborating on the project to create cutting-edge mixed reality devices for military applications, according to TechCrunch.

Trae Stephens, Anduril executive chair and co-founder, and also a partner at Founders Fund, revealed the details of the funding round in an interview on Bloomberg Television.

This latest funding round positions Anduril as a dominant player in the defense technology landscape, poised for continued innovation and expansion in the years to come.
